ABOUT

HISTORY

The hotel was built in 1914 by architects Robert Charles Tiphaine and Vicente Colmegna, following the French architectural style so characteristic of the time. Later, Ricardo and Joaquín Casielles, Spanish merchants involved in gastronomy and real estate investments, decided to purchase the property from the insurance company La Franco Argentina in 1934.

The most distinguished tenant was former President Agustín P. Justo, who had his office here until his death in 1943. After a renovation that preserved the original architectural elements, José San Juan, Ricardo's son-in-law, was responsible for converting the apartment building into a hotel. Finally, in 1978, Ricardo's daughters, Margarita and Beatriz, opened the Hotel Marbella.

Strategically located on the emblematic Av. de Mayo, the backbone of Buenos Aires' historic center, the hotel continues its family spirit today and is managed by its founder's granddaughter and great-grandchildren, who keep his legacy alive with the same passion and commitment.
